This on-demand online course is suitable for anyone working with children, infants or babies. It’s a refresher or introductory course for those with a practical First Aid qualification. There are some distinct differences that first aiders need to know about when performing first aid on babies or children that differ from the techniques used on adults. This will look at DR AB, the Recovery Position for a child, giving CPR and using an AED on a child or baby, and what to do if a baby is choking.

Learning outcomes:

• Recap the Primary Survey and the (DR ABC)
• Be aware of the differences when treating infants/babies
• Understand the importance of reacting quickly

This course will end with a 10-question multiple choice test (Certificate received upon completion with 90% pass mark).

PLEASE NOTE: This online training course does NOT give you full competency in Paediatric First Aid. It provides general awareness but should NOT be used as a replacement for practical training. It can only be used as an annual refresher or as a top up to a current in date in-person Sport Specifc or Emergency First Aid Qualifcation.

If your 3 year in person Paediatric/Emergency First Aid qualification has expired completion of this course this will not suffice to stay qualified. You must attend a new in person course to retain the qualification.
