Safeguarding and Protecting Children Level 1 (for participants aged 18+)

As delivered to the UK Coaching syllabus. This course is for participants aged 18+ only

This in person workshop will raise your awareness of the tell-tale signs of abuse and give you the tools and confidence you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately, and effectively should the need ever arise in your coaching career.

Learning Outcomes:

  • This interactive face-to-face workshop will help you recognise and respond to concerns a child may be experiencing, or be at risk of experiencing, harm, neglect, or abuse.
  • Learn the importance of person-centred care and taking an individualised approach to your coaching practice, that puts the child or young person at the heart of every session.
  • Explore your values and feelings in relation to child abuse, and recognise how these may potentially impact on your response.
  • Through interactive scenarios and discussions with people from different sports and activities, you will have the opportunity explore the consequences of those decisions in a safe and supportive environment, helping to increase your confidence to deal with safeguarding issues effectively and counteract the latest threats to emerge that could impact on the physical or mental health of children in modern Britain.
