This Level 2 on-demand online course offered on the comprehesive IHASCO platform is designed for anybody aged 18 years + who comes into frequent contact with children at work. The course will help you to understand the different types of abuse, how to identify abuse and how to properly report concerns.

This course will allow you to meet the mandatory safeguarding training requirement to deliver on a HAPpy camp. If however, you also require a Safeguarding qualification that meets the Minimum Operating Standard requirement for most governing bodies of sport - please see 'Safeguarding and Protecting Children Level 1 (for participants aged 18+)' in person training offer.

Note: If 16-17 yr old HAPpy camp staff cannot attend a live online Level 1 training (preffered) this on demand course can be carried out by 16-17 yr olds if they are in the presence of an 18+ adult to ask any additional questions they may have to aid their understanding of the context of their responsibility.

Learning outcomes:

• Learn how to work towards best practice in line with the Children’s and Young Persons Act 2008

• Learn how to recognise the signs of abuse in a child and the importance of a child centred approach

• Understand the importance of reporting and recording circumstances or evidence of abuse

This course will end with a 20 question multiple choice test.
