This Level 2 on-demand online course is designed for anybody (ideally aged 18 years+) who comes into frequent contact with children either at work or as a volunteer. This course covers the often-difficult subject of child abuse; considering the different kinds of abuse, how to spot the signs, and how to correctly and discreetly report your concerns so that the problem is addressed.

The course covers both levels 1 & 2 and also covers standard 11 of the Care Certificate. It is IIRSM approved, CPD Certified and Skills for Care Endorsed, but it is not fully OFSTED compliant. Full details here: Safeguarding Children Online Training Course | iHasco

This course will allow you to meet the mandatory safeguarding training requirement to deliver on a HAPpy camp. If however, you also require a Safeguarding qualification that meets the Minimum Operating Standard requirement for most governing bodies of sport - please see the UK Coaching 'Safeguarding & Protecting Children Level 1 (for attendees aged 18+)' in person/live online training offer.

PLEASE NOTE: If any 16-17 yr old HAPpy camp staff cannot attend the age specific live online Level 1 training (prefered) this on demand course can be done by them in order to meet HAPpy mandatory training but ONLY if they complete the course in the presence of an 18+ adult to ask any additional questions they may have to aid their understanding of the context of their responsibility.

Learning outcomes

• Learn how to work towards best practice in line with the Children's and Young Persons Act 2008
• Learn how to recognise the signs of abuse in a child and the importance of a child centred approach
• Understand the importance of reporting and recording circumstances or evidence of abuse

This course will end with a 20 question multiple choice test (Certificate received upon course completion of 90% pass mark).
